An Agreement was signed on the creation of the first engineering “YANOS-class”

On the 2nd of February an Agreement was signed between JSC “Slavneft-YANOS”, the Government of Yaroslavl region, Yaroslavl city administration, Lyceum #86, Yaroslavl State Technical University (YSTU) and Yaroslavl Industrial and Economic College named after N.P.Pastukhov on the creation and functioning of the specialized dedicated engineering “YANOS-class” based on the Lyceum. It will be the first engineering class in the Yaroslavl region.

The purpose of creating the engineering class is the development of the process-dedicated education and forming the learners’ motivation for selecting the engineering profession. Possibility to study in “YANOS-class” with the specialized and dedicated teaching of chemistry, mathematics and physics will be granted to the students of general education institutions of Yaroslavl and Yaroslavl region who will be acknowledged qualified by the competition committee. The best graduates of the engineering class who continued the intermediate and high professional education in YSTU and Yaroslavl Industrial and Economic College named after N.P.Pastukhov having chosen the disciplines demanded at the Refinery will be able to get the training under the program of the specialist target preparation and have the first priority right to be employed by JSC “Slavneft-YANOS”.   

The importance of such initiative is confirmed by the necessity to figure out the challenge set by the country President for Russia transfer to the innovation type of economic development and the new qualified specialists are required for the fulfillment of such goal.  Besides, Yaroslavl region was included within five pilot regions for implementation of the project “Preparation of the qualified specialists in compliance with the requirements of high technology branches of industry based on the dual education”.

“We are sure that creating the engineering class will enable us to increase the quality of the specialists preparation for our Refinery”, - noted Nikolay Karpov, General Director of JSC “Slavneft-YANOS”. “Cooperation system “lyceum – college – university – enterprise” gives us the opportunity to form the unified educational area beginning from the school stage; it enables us to improve sufficiently the work on the professional preparation of the specialists due to involving the college and university teachers and YANOS specialists into this system.  Finally, it provides us with the young specialists who have practical knowledge and skills”.
